At German Car Depot your personal information is kept private and confidential. Any information we collect on a customer is never sold, rented or released to third parties in any way. All information is safely stored on a secured private server. Credit card numbers are never saved or stored and are only submitted to the issuing credit card company using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. More About Privacy Policies All new car dealership service departments and many of the chain store type of oil change shops report their customers personal information to CarFax, AutoCheck and many other data mining company’s. In most cases, this is not a bad thing but on occasion it can be. For example: Most new car dealership service departments will make a visual inspection of a vehicle when it arrives for service, any visible damage will be noted and made part of the vehicles permanent record. This is used to protect the dealership from being blamed for causing the damage, just in case the customer never noticed the damage before. The downside to this practice is these records are available to CarFax, AutoCheck and other data mining companies who buy your vehicles info from the dealerships. This info can easily be mis-interpreted. For example: a service advisor notes a dent on the passenger side front fender, later CarFax might mistakenly report your vehicle as having been “possibly involved in front end collision”. Insurance companies and warranty companies (including the manufactures new car warranty) also have access to these records and could use them to help reduce the amount paid on a claim or deny the claim altogether. As mentioned before - German Car Depot is different, your personal information is always kept private and confidential.
